A self-portrait I did back in January!
My father can attest to this- I have always loved fiction.
I remember, years ago, I was reading my Hans Christian Anderson fairytale collection one day (I was maybe 12 or 13) and I could hear the mumblings of my family in the distance. My ears perked up when I heard my brother's voice - "Sam can't hear anything when she's reading." Apparently my parents had been calling my name and trying to get my attention! I didn't hear a thing. I was far away from home; far away from the voices of anyone.
Even now, at nineteen years old, I find that I am more often than not so deep in a world of my own that I could be getting yelled at or pushed around in a crowd and I would have no clue. Ideas are brimming and overflowing at all times- 'How can I bring my thoughts to life?' 'What can I draw today?' 'I wish I was reading right now.' 'I should build a castle in Minecraft tonight.'
Of course, even when I am not actively creating something out here in the real world, I am always creating inside my head. Stories, worlds, characters, ahhh... anything and everything.
I go for walks often to create stories in my head about a girl named Georgie who can time travel (and world travel) as she pleases, experiencing the most incredible things with some of my favorite characters (be it from a book series or comic/manga, an anime, or a movie/TV series). She has fought titans from the world of Attack on Titan and drawn magic with Qifrey and the apprentices from Witch Hat Atalier. She brings characters from many different forms of media together so they can learn from each other and battle evil together.
I am an avid hater of AI and a lover of human creativity. I've been able to know so many people (including my parents and siblings) who have filled my cup with their ideas and abilities. Artists and writers, animators and actors, you name it. These people have taught me just how beautiful it is to have an ability we get to call our own. What we can do with our hands is incredible, and all it takes is dedication, passion, and ideas.
I now study mathematics and computer science as a college student. It is not lost on me how ironic that seems! But I can't stress enough just how creative one can become while scribbling calculus formulas to find the maximum combined area for 3 pig pens using 200 feet of fencing. Or the beauty in using Python syntax to build a user-responsive game like Hunt the Wumpus. A good example is Desmos. Just look at the beautiful creations many have made through their math equations!
I never want to stop being creative. My father's decades of work in web design have opened a new opportunity for me through Design Media Pros. I desire nothing more than to help others get their creative minds to work and showcase my passion for ideas and design. I want to bring others' ideas to life and watch them blossom and grow. I want to use many forms of media to show how creativity is in everything. From math tests to comic art, it's impossible not to find the ideas of man in every little thing!
So please- allow me to share my ideas with you, and please share your ideas with me. Let's build something beautiful together.
